if so, how do you like it? Does it feel like more or less space than a cabin of similar size? Is it really cold in the winter/hot in the summer? Has it held up over time? Did you order as a kit, or make some of it yourself? Have anything else to say about it?

Not really but I like to call our place a yurbin since it really is a screen-house with canvas walls that can be rolled up or down -- if you want to take a look seach "yurbin".

Studied them for a long time as an option instead of building. They still need a deck or platform, which is almost as much work as a small cabin. Plus I envisioned them eventually getting moldy and flimsy. Some great sites on yurts though, in the right climate they would be sweet.

Most State Park systems have yurts in some parks. Just visit those parks and ask the maintenance folks how they have held up.
Lake DeGray SP here in Arkansas has had them for about 15 years.
