Hey guys....been checkin the site out for over two years an never have posted. I’ve noticed over that time there doesn’t seem to be many southerners like me that talk about there cabins and how they may be diffrently set up compared to all you cold-bloods 😉up north. I have a cabin in NW Florida on a river that has been in my family for over a hundred years. My great great grandfather built it and a few years ago I did some remodeling and refinishing on the cabin. It’s on the grid, but believe me, it’s in the middle of nowhere, just like I like itðŸ˜. Thanks again for all the tips over the last two years and I will try to add some pics of my family’s cabin too. 818196692C0E4EE9A.jpeg

A few south central cabin owners are here but I agree we seem to be in the minority.

I'm in South Florida...Haven't gotten around to building another cabin, as last two burnt down (TN one from meth heads, and my SW Fl one from a brush fire).

Mountains of North Alabama here and have been around a couple of years. Lot of knowledge and information here, and yes, it appears that a huge majority of members are from the "cold country" as us southern rednecks refer to "up north". This is the only forum I am on that has a large membership from Canada. Not a lot of "chit chat" on the forum about the heat and humidity that we deal with in the summer months. Most members can not believe we do not have to deal with frost heave and freezing depth. Super nice people here and offer up their knowledge for free.

Quoting: Swampwise11 are you Plannin on building another cabin in Florida? Yes...Gonna build one at my hunting lease. Well I'll build it at home under the barn, then transport the sections out to reassemble.
Littlecooner...I've been thinking about buying some land in NW Bama (land of my people).
