Howdy all,

I am trying to figure out which building method has been used here.
The logs aren't saddle hitched, nor butt and pass and many look a little thin to have steel in there, nor does it look like tongue and groove.
It is simply gravity, weight from above holding it all?
Please see pics below.
I may build one one day, always looking for ideas.
Thanks to any takers.

Without seeing the inside it is pretty hard to tell for sure. It may be reinforced with interior walls.

That's just home made log siding. I suspect that is gets lots of moisture behind it. Also exposed and very weathered OSB skirting should tell all you need to know about the build quality of the building.

It appears to be stone foundation not OSB. I feel you're right on it being some kind of log siding.

Thanks both,
Ahh log siding! That is something that never crossed my mind.
Wow, seems like a lot of unnecessary work as if he would just saddle hitched them he woulda had a house with half the work.

Thank you! My log building experience is theoretical at this point and I could not see how what I though was weight/gravity holding it together was at all safe hah.
Best!

A guy here did a similar look by using landscape timbers he got on sale and ripped the curved sides off leaving a 'dimensional' board from the middle.
Must have had a friend with a little sawmill.
