i am considering using a stock 12x20 wood shed to use as a weekender and adding a 10x20 screen porch to the front and lean to tractor shed on the back. i would add the tractor shed on back and screen porch on front. most cabin plans i see have small porches on gabled end. i am in northern south carolina so most time would be on screen porch. snow loads on roof are negligible. is my idea possible. i have never built a structure before, but i think i could do the add ons.
first post - great site.

There are few differences between a shed and a cabin. Pretty much just insulation and whatever "modern" conviences you want to add. Local code may not allow it, but in general, a good shed is a great way to start a do it yourself finishing job, and it's a little less intimidating as it's already weather tight.
