Hey all! I live in central Wisconsin and I have 6 acres with a well and electric already on it. This spring I am planning on building a 10x10, with an overhanging loft that is 7x10, doubling as the porch. I am seriously considering living here full time if possible, but I am hung up on a few things. First off, I need a shower. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of how in the world to put a shower in this small of a space, and also keeping the pipes from freezing. I was just going to run off the water main and bring it under ground with insulation. I will then have a tankless propane water heater which will run my shower and sink. The excess water will drain into a portable tank, which will get dumped out each day...i think if i were to put this underground in a trap door it would be okay?? If anyone has ANY input or ideas please help!

10X10? I'm sorry, this is the "Small Cabin" forum, I believe you are looking for the "Micro Cabin" site.
Jokes aside, you might look at some blogs/forums about tiny houses on trailers if you haven't already. They have the market cornered on 'how to fit showers into tiny spaces' it seems.

Your shower might be a bucket of hot water heated from the wood stove and start scrubbing. Lol I have a 10 x 12 and I understand your where you are coming from. I'm sure it could be fitted in but things might be tight. Good luck and keep us posted on your plans.

Could you build a 10x20 and make the porch a separate 10x10 deck with sloped roof? Might be more comfortable.
Here is a picture of a shower box with shower curtain in a tiny cabin.
Are you planning on having a woodstove?

For a truly small shower, you may want to look at RV shower pans. The link below is for a 24"x24". Depending on how skinny you are it just may work. My minimum size would be 32"x32".

We use one of the 24 x 24 pans in our 6x12 converted cargo trailer. It is usable depending upon the physical build of the people using it. We have a 32 x 36 in our cabin and that is much nicer.
FWIW, RV shower pan plumbing fittings are a unique size; not available at the local home improvement store. But available online from many RV suppliers.
