My wife and I have been working to build our get away. It is up in the mountains of Oregon. Little 12x16 cabin.

The cabin and shed. Big enough to fit our jeep in (12x14). Both are under 200 square feet to avoid building permits.

Looks great, Hick. Yeah, 200sf. I'm considering a couple 200sf builds (close together like yours) and putting connecting (temp) walls and roof up for the winter months...maybe a dinning/social deck in between in the summer.
The firs put you west side of the Cascades, right?

Yes I'm on the west side of the Cascades. About an hour from baker City.
We used 2x6 rafters with a 2x8 ridge beam. R19 insulation in the ceiling with the 1 inch foam board. The reflective wrap with the tyvek wrap keep it pretty cool in the summer.
With the 12 12 pitch of the roof it leaves more than enough room for the loft.

Love these cabins, look professionally done, and well thought-out.
Your location statement leaves me confused about the general location of your gorgeous and well-chosen homesite...Baker City is in east Oregon, nowhere near our Cascades. Only a jet airplane could get over to the west side of the Cascades in one hour from Baker City. A one hour drive west from Baker City will barely get you into central Oregon.
