  Hey
I have a 350 gallon underground cistern. It is catching rain off my metal roof. Been doing it for 10+ years. The water is always pretty clear with a tint of tannin from leaves... I have it running through a 3 stage filter with a UV light that runs into an indoor tank I then pull from for showers and so on..
I recently had some work done and my roofer removed my foam and protection from my gutters... The water now is quite dark. Like a pond.
Obviously I am installing back the foam and protection asap but should I be concerned with the water now?
Should I do anything to it?

  Is your roofer insured?

I would pump it back out and start over.
I'm not sure if a roofers insurance is going to cover dark water in a cistern.

My take is that if somebody makes a problem they have at least some responsibility for it.

Re read the contract you signed. If they did what was in writing. Then they did what you wanted them to do. Quoting: Brettny I would pump it back out and start over
