groingo Member	# Posted: 10 Aug 2025 01:06am Reply Have 800 watts solar now with 8 AWG tinned fine strand copper producing 20 plus amps rather than 13 amps on the old aluminum wire which was 12 awg. Also decided to re use my 6 14 year old 100 watt panels that looked like hell but with the 8 awg wire now producing 17 amps...both systems ( which run independent of the other with 60 foot runs, also replaced all MC4 connectors (most old ones had either cracked, clip ears broke or leaked).

groingo Member	# Posted: 10 Aug 2025 06:28pm Reply I can't believe how well my old 100 watt 2 BB panels are performing using a cheap 30 amp nine dollar PWM charge controller! Should have done this long ago but now I know! Great learning experience!
