Does anyone have any experience with the Starlink Satellite Internet Service? If so, I’d like to hear about your experience. Is it worth it?

I believe, it depends on what the alternatives are for the location. Case in point; we are on a ridge top. We get good Verizon data. That suits us fine. Our neighbor, downhill from us in a small valley cannot get Verizon or any other cell service as our ridge blocks the signal. But Starlink works for him. There is no cable or fiber optic availability.

I've got it. I have no complaints. I live in the woods, so I have quite a bit of obstructions. But still works very well 99° of the time. I get good connection to my shop about 75 feet away.
They sent me the mini set up for $5 bucks per month.
So total $125 for both. I can take it anywhere. Plus it's nice to have a back up if something goes wrong with the main receiver.

Just installed Starlink last weekend. I have the standard 4, took less than an hour to set up. Get good connection out to pole barn about 100' away. I was streaming Hulu and Netflix from my home account in no time. Next is to connect my Midnite controllers to monitor from home. $65.00 a month.

We've had it for several years... on a waiting list for nearly a year until it became available in our area of southern Colorado. We squeaked in with the first 2nd gen dish. Mounted rooftop and has a clear sky view. Exceptional service, where there is no other options other than Viasat and Hughesnet - don't waste time or money on either of those - we had Viasat and the latency is so bad it was very unsatisfactory for Wifi phone use. The router is powerful enough we share internet with two of our neighbors (they use wifi extenders to strengthen the signal) .... as a bonus they each give us $300 for allowing them to use it.

Like darz, we were given the mini for $5 /month and use it a quite a bit as well when we travel and rv.

I've been told to check our plan. This has been steady high speed. When we were on the phone lines for the first decade, if my sister sent pictures, I'd go make a sammich .

At our farm we don't have any other options, except cellular. We got starlink during their beta testing many years ago and have been very happy with it. It never drops out anymore and I am getting speeds around 100MB.

Some days the wife, myself and my daughter are all working from home and we don't have any complaints. I would recommend it unless you have the ability to get cable internet for cheaper.

I have two, one at home and one at the cabin. Much more reliable (home) than the local cable provider. At the cabin, it is really the only option. We had a local radiolink provider, but the service was very intermittent and when available it was slow. Starlink has been flawless, and the prices have come down. I'm currently paying about $50/month for 100Mb service (basic residential). There are faster (and more expensive) options. Also, when not in residence, we switch our plan to "standby" mode, which is $5/month (about to go up from what I hear). That mode is perfectly suitable for phone calls and texts, and internet works, but is very limited and slow.

We have Starlink at the cottage, and it's a game-changer. Rates seem to bounce around quite a bit (Parry Sound area, Ontario, Canada). When we first got the unit it was 140/month residential. Then a $70/50GB monthly plan was offered, so we switched to that but hit the data limit on busier months. This year they offered $70/unlimited throttled to 100 Mbps, so we switched to that plan. After a month we got an email stating it's now up to $75/month. Who knows what it'll be next month...
The actual service is amazing though!

It was the only thing that worked at my house in western nc mountains, (very small town) . I tried all the other satellite services and never got above 2-5mbps and was spotty at that. Now its constant around 200mbps. I only got it for the ring cameras when we are at our primary residence. We stream 2 this, 2 cell phones and daughters tablet. We'll worth the $120 in my opinion!

Agreed, but if you go into your account you can switch to a significantly cheaper plan that will still get the job done if you're mostly using it for cameras...
