 I'm logged in for the first time at my cabin (Mud Waller Haller),,,,OFF GRID!!!   :-)
 I seem to get better reception out here than I did in town for my broad ban modem.I am just so thrilled.Powering off that little honda 2000 just purring away.

 i looked at my sd cards on my cabin laptop this afternoon-- after that -i did a seach for wireless networks....but could not pick up any of my neighbor's wireless signal.....dang :-(

 There are a number of self made signal amplifiers/antennas on instructables.com that may boost your signal to a usable level.

 he's referring to mobile broadband connections through cell phone companies like verizon, att,ect. generally, if you have a strong cell phone signal at your location then you probably will be able to access broadband too.  if you don't have cell coverage then you certainly don't  have broadband.
 
 i use verizon. they seem best on cell and data coverage. there are cheaper options out there too like sprint and t-mobile though.
 
 and be sure to look at their data coverage maps too for helping you to decide or see what data speeds are available.
 
 anyway, hope that helps clear it up for some of you.
