I add soap when showering... : )
One can add bleach or peroxide (see several old discussion threads) to the water if concerned, depends on water quality. If you get a lot of leaf litter, bird droppings etc and have no filtration, you might wanna do something. But if you have good filtration and the water isn't stinky, might use as-is. Then again, I prefer swimming in lakes over chlorinated pools... Your mileage may vary.
