I would like to know what size pump (hp, watts and type) I would need at my cabin. We will be running a toilet, tankless hot water propane heater @ 3.7 gpm
and to a sink. Storage tank will no more than 10' down to bottom of tank. Would like to keep the watts down as much as possible. Any help would be much appreciated.

Shurflo pumps (the kind used in RV's) have *some* ability to lift water. The spec says it will "dry prime" 9ft. They are small enough that you could put them in a small box mounted to the top of the tank. They produce 45 PSI (100 feet head). Current draw is proportional to the amount of pressure you develop.

If you really need 3.5 GPM then the premium pump will provide that:

I am interested into building my own solar panels. I saw in the internet, several videos of DIY solar panel. but, So far I have not seen anyone showing comprehensive step by step instructions, including list of all the materials needed. Does anyone in this forum has knowlege and experience in that matter or can someone recommand a book in the subject. Thanks,
Jb

Very often you won't save any money building your own FYI.
