I have a 50ft 10 or 12 gauge extension cord that I use for my beloved honda 2000. It never popped out but it sits in there very poorly... I feel like it is about 50% inside the generator outlet and I was wondering if there is a solution for this?

Are other plugs loose when plugged into the generator also? What I'm getting at, is there a problem with the cord (easy, just get a new cord or replace the connector) or the plug (harder, as likely the problem is in the outlet on the 2000)?

Spread the two prongs apart a bit?

Mine is like this too, I try not to think about it...I feel that the outlet is poorly designed, really.

rossman - I think you are right. It is just the way it is designed.

so instead of driving there you just watch it on tv
good way to save $1500

using a worn out outlet can cause trouble too and ruin your plugs and it will get worse

a new outlet from honda is eyepopping $40
or try searching honda partnumber 32330-z07-c30 on google or ebay
i dont know if a home receptacle or better commercial receptacle will fit but maybe?
