I have two killawatt meters both show 120 volts at 2.87 amps producing 228 watts, but every website calculator says it should be 344 watts at 2.87 amps at 120... which is right?
I contacted P3 and they told me I needed to use the VA (volt amp) feaure which now shows it is pulling 360 watt... .ok?
Sure wish this charger had some sort of meter so I could see what it was putting out instead of an idiot light.

watts =volts x amps. is the formula
 120 voltsx 2.87 amps = 344 watts

for a given load ,if the voltage increases, the amperage decreases. Or vice versa if the voltage decreases. old243

Suspect the confusion is because your voltage is AC not DC. See
tables for examples with single and 3 phase AC. With single phase AC you need to multiply by a power factor which may be around .8.
