I'm planning to install a rainwater collection system at my cabin. I have a 275 gallon tank. I'm going to use a shallow water well pump that has a small pressure tank. I have electricity so iI won't be running it off of a battery. Is this a good pump choice?

Sounds like a very practical choice . It's best to filter rain water before it enters the tank . Some folks also use a first flush divert-er .

the smallest jet pump will pump all the water you ever need because unlike a well pumping system your pump will be force fed its water supply [ no lift involved ] . I am very happy with our rain water system .

I plan on installing a 1700 gallon tank for rainwater this summer. I just can't decide on what pump to use for a totally offgrid application. I use a cistern system now with a rv type diaphram pump but would like something better that doesn't cost a fortune. The rv pump is a power hog.
