All these years of using Polyester layered sheets (because they were light weight) to stay warm, then I tried a fibre filled Comforter and the seas parted, the sun burned through the clouds and I no longer fart flames......one Comforter has replaced 5 sheets and it was only 21 bucks and now life is good...ok, I lied about the flames.

I prefer my US Army "Ranger Blanket" also known as a poncho liner. I've had mine for almost 30 years now, it's almost see-through from wear and use. I sleep with it every night. Maybe it's my security blanket?? I dunno... it's warm and comfy but not too warm and I love it. Sadly, I'm thinking about "retiring" it and buying a new one - I guess I'll have to look online for one as there aren't any in my local area.

Your description is almost identical to my old one (except I think mine is even older). The places that old thing has been. Now it's been claimed by my 12 year old.

My 9 year old fell in love with mine, so I bought him a "copy" of one that we have available here in Canada at the Canex (Canadian military version of the US "PX"). It's not the exactly same as the "real" ranger blanket but he still enjoys it.

I personally prefer the old beat up, worn out "authentic" ranger blanket to the new "copy"!

Wife and I are lovers of flannel sheets. No slipping into the icebox (between the sheets) with flannel. Of course you need to be in a northern climate to really enjoy the total effect of flannel.

Same here, especially in the "special" climate of Petawawa. Ice on the puddles in the am for PT, 35C in the afternoon and snow or a hurricane in the evening just for s%$^ and giggles!

 Not to derail the thread.....

For a nice warm bed year round wool, and are supposed to help in case of a fire, which would be important in a small area.
