 Hi Folks
I'm thinking about digging a well for my off grid cabin. I'm wondering what others have used to "line" the well. It would be dug with an excavator, possibly 20 feet deep. Years ago, I have one dug for my house and it was lined with 36 inch diameter concrete well crocks. I'm thinking with this one a 24 inch plastic culvert would work. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

Quoting: kittysmitty 24 inch plastic culvert Not sure if there is any nasty chemicals in that plastic ? BPH ? Agra grit or metal products are the norm .

I plan on using the black pipe and a backhoe or excavator. I have seasonal springs. One thing I found on the net researching this is a recommendation to wash them inside and out with dish soap to get rid of manufacturing dirt and oil.

I have about eight small crocks in my well. 24" in Dia. The water table is about 10' from ground level where my well is located. I have no experience with any other methods.

Clay or concrete drainage pipe? Very heavy but with the excavator on site you could use it as a crane.

Ours is lined with concrete and has a concrete lid (which is removable but heavy). No critters can get into it.
