"Since Tesla introduced the Powerwall, it has said that the 10-kWh model could be used for about 500 charge-discharge cycles. "

So this was never meant to be a daily use power pack?
If that were the case then it wouldn't last 2 years.

 Or did I miss something?

I'm doing a self-build. There's a local ev company that's selling me batteries at 1.60 canadian ($C) per amp hour. They've recommended a bms. It's less than 200. the whole thing will cost me 3k $C.

I'm building a 400 amp hr at 12v. I should build a 7/800 but... in line with keeping it small/experimental.

I love the Balqon. Way easier. Better battery cell. But 3k US is 4k $C right now. Plus shipping/taxes/etc. So ya. If I lived in the US...

DIY saves a bit more than $1k.

Anybody else want one? Happy to build one or two more. Say $400 assembly fee. smile. Ontario/Quebec delivery only.

Wow, good for you! That's pretty awesome. I didn't realize there was that much difference between the Canadian and US dollars these days.
