Thanks for the response! There doesn't seem to be much info on the web comparing over-the-air tuning abilities of TV's, I guess most people use cable or satellite and don't care.  . Interesting that your off-brand TV's get better reception than the Vizio. I wonder how well one of the dedicated OTA tuner/recorders would work? Maybe I could get one through Walmart so that it would be easy to return if it's no better than the built-in tuner in my Vizio.
