Busy night at the cabin mouse bucket last night. First what looks like a cat around 1am, then a racoon around 3, tipped the bucket over. I'm at the city house today, hope they left the place halfway clean.

No pics, but.... We put out a 'deer block' just because it draws critters in to see. Last Fri late aft we spotted a pretty good sized, dark colored, thick heavy tail critter moving toward it. Of course we did not have the bino's on the deck We are pretty sure it was a Fisher

My wife bought me a wifi camera equipped bird feeder for Christmas... then our kids bought us one, too. First one's up at the house, haven't decided where to put the second one (no wifi at the cabin during the winter).

Think a raccoon is back. I set a mousetrap out last two nights. A big trap, like 6” long. Twice the bait is gone, spring not sprung.

What a herd of elk!
We just watched a very healthy coyote scouring the snow, I guess on a mouse hunt.

There are about 2500 to maybe 3000 elk that call the Valles Caldera home base; that is a 90,000-acre National Preserve about 2.5 miles north of us. The elk wander wherever they want. We find their elk duds all over the place.

This guy has been making his nightly trips across my yard, as in the first photo. In last nights looks like he got scared, or ate a raccoon lol. IMG_6500.jpeg
