My wife and I are looking for a small piece of land to build a cabin on. An acre or two, more if we can afford it. We like the Eureka Springs area but everything listed is for Holiday Island which I believe is full of restrictions, inspections, and codes. Looking for something unrestricted, easy electric access, public road access, level spot for the cabin, basically a good place to put prebuilt cabin without having to worry about jumping through hoops except maybe septic. Planning on rainwater collection and water transport at least for a while. If anyone could give us some information on something they may have land available for sale or about any of the above I would really appreciate it. Any pointers for other areas within and hour or maybe two from Fayetteville would be helpful as well. I know Benton and Washington counties have redtape and inspections etc. so they are out but heard Carroll and Madison county are still free areas. Thanks for the help.

you might check out Uniontown, Mountainburg, Lincoln; all south of Fayetteville. Land is reasonable, lots of people doing their own thing with regards to building cabins, homes, etc
