We picked up another camper for my daughter and family. It's really pretty nice. Getting a great deal from a buddy of mine. It's got a 12 foot slide out. IMG_20250923_0856562.jpg

Nice. Speaking of camping, just yesterday I pulled these out of the shed, Coleman leftovers from our camping days out here before we built the cabin and moved into the life of LED and LFP luxury. Still nice to keep around for emergecy.

Well Darz, the build and amenities set up wont be boggin ya down with that to use. Paul, Im so done with mantle lanterns since LED ones, keep a one at home and cabin for back-up which is mighty rare now. But the sgl burner small canister stove is my love back-up for sure. Btw, you can make a nice sturdy base stand for the canister with a big enough piece of pic pipe and a pipe flange. Or just knock together one from so scrap lumber. Sooo much better than trying to balance a pan on top without a decent base.

Ha, yeah I tested it this morning heating up the coffee water. Definitely accident potential. I got started grabbing these Coleman utensils because my recycle yard pal dropped off yet more unused bottles. I must have 25. Only use one to start the wood stove, need another reason to collect them. Lp is cheap enough but hard to say no to free stuff.

Quoting: Brettny How many soft spots does it have? Only found 1 spot that needs to be fixed. Where the antenna mast is. Gonna cut the mast off. It spent most of its life at a permanent campsite That had a roof over it.

Although I don't know the complete history of the camper, I know it was WELL maintained. The inside of the cabinets are super clean, lots of closet and drawer space etc. I need to get a new battery still, but I only got it out here Monday. Breaker box/fuse panel mm

I will definitely consider it. I need to do some research on the charger that's in it. To be honest, I don't know if it's just a charger/converter and or inverter.

Will the unit be off grid? If so it wont be charging the battery regardless of bat chemistry. If you want to run a gen into the unit it would charge though unless you had a discon switch at the bat for when the gen runs and a LFP charger plugged into an outlet the gen powers to charge safely. After reading a bunch of stuff on RV forums my guess is that any older units will have a non-friendly charger for LFP and one that is comparable is pricey. Of course if the unit will have grid power all that is moot.

The big plan is to get a power drop to a campground type pedestal. It is parked close to a utility pole with a transformer. Haven't checked the price yet . However, the guy that last lived in it came by yesterday. He showed me a switch for the water heater that he added. That way he would wake up and flip the switch on, take a shower, then shut it off for the day till he got home. Then would turn it back on for 15 minutes or so. He said it saved a lot of propane. I've been hooking up my little sportsman Genny. It was able to power the furnace and lights as well as the fridge. The fridge is automatic. If there is 120 volts it uses it. If not it automatically switches to propane. After turning the fridge on for a couple hours, The freezer was down to 0° and the fridge was right around 39°. So the little Genny will power most everything but the AC and microwave. I only filled the tank with gas once, and probably ran it for 8 hours or more.

In that case I'd just put whatever old LA bat you might have around in it, if one at all, maybe just as a backup lights in an outage. But make sure the lights in the unit are LED

But make sure the lights in the unit are LED Almost all the bulbs were already replaced with led. Except a couple in the bedroom sconces by the bed. I did a little pressure washing yesterday. You can see in the one pic, that they must have had it framed in pretty well. You can see the stick framing in between the green. Lol I only used water and you can see how well the decal stripes held up by the reflection. IMG_20250930_1041113.jpg
