 Hello,
Came across this forum from the solar power forum. We're about 80% complete on a 12X16 cabin on San Saba River in Texas. Lighting is wired with 12 volt lights, with 3 interior lights, and 2 porch lights, powered by a 45 watt system, using 2 12 volt deep cycle batteries. Looking forward to going through this forum. I attached a pic of the cabin..

 Thanks.....
Yes, we all need a sqeaky, noisy screen door.....We took a basic wooden screen door, added a 1x4 cedar plate and a gate handle for the door handle, and put preservative on the door to make it a little darker. Our door is nice and noisy....

What do you estimate to be the cost of building the cabin?

I haven't any construction experience buy would like to try to build a small cabin such as yours on a couple of acres that I have adjacent to a national forest.

I will also take any hints or ideas

Congrats and welcome! We have the same screened doors-ours squeak and slam...I know it is a "sound of summer" to a lot of people but to be honest it kinda drives me crazy! I wonder if it will grow on me through the years?? LOL.

Squeaky screen doors are how our parents kept track of us! Try to sneak out late at night and I'd hear, "Where do you think you're going? Get back in here!"

Looking forward to hearing the story of your place, WM.
