Finished this small live edge custom White Pine console table tonight.
Wife asked for it for her deco so.... Couldn't refuse.

Here's a shot of it!

Thats very cool looking. I've been looking at making some furniture for my cabin out of raw wood that I harvest from my land. Also, my dad has an unlimited supply of bamboo he told me to come get as much as I wanted. LOL

I love the styling. Did you just come up with the design yourself or did you find a pattern somewhere?

Thanks a lot guys!

Bzzzzzt,
Before making furnitures, the wood need to be dry down to 6-8% humidity.
Crazy like I am... All my wood now comes from my own wood lot and i dry it in my own DH kiln.
Had to learn how to dry wood and i can tell you from what I know now that 50% is by the book and the other 50 is by trial and error.

One day, maybe, I will have my own sawmill...LoL
Other stuff... I have it.

I have 19 huge thick and large live edges slabs right now in the kiln.
Can't wait to do something nice with them and/or sell a couple to artist woodworkers.

I designed it myself according to my wife specification (to fit where she wanted it) LoL

Here a few pictures of a dinning table I made last year... Spalted maple top and dyed white pine base.

This ventilator was white before and we wanted a new one... My wife and I went to Home depot and we could not find one we like and the best ones we could find.... their price tags weren't in our budget.
Told my wife that we'll buy a can of primer and a can of tremclad brown and I'll re-do the ventilator.
I have some nice dry eastern white cedar and I'll make some nice "paddles" with it.
Here's the result!

Thanks
Originally, the fan paddles did not have weight on them.
Original weight of the original paddles was around 8 ounces each and the cedar was 6 to 7. something ounces each without the finish (clear).
Was lucky... maybe?
Fan runs well and it isn't shaking.

Thank you cabingal3

That coffee table is made with "light curls" curly maple "top" (picture doesn't do justice) on a white pine base thick legs.

I'll post pictures of the new one I finished yesterday.... Very dark live edge coffee table - Need more tung oil for a few days.
