Last summer I updated here that I had the foundation posts and beams and floor joists complete and was leaving those to winter over. A couple weeks ago we started the rest of the build. So far the floor OSB is down and we've framed two walls. More walls and some site built posts and beams to come in the next couple weekends, with wall raising and everything else to commence in July, hopefully dried in by July 13.

A year late and many dollars more, it looks like this now. It stood one winter.

Eh, there's not a lot to see. Totally unfinished with a hodge podge of construction materials and camp furniture. Most of the insulation is in. I'll finish that and interior walls and floors next year. I did get to sleep in the la-z-boy on the last night I was there.

Is that the Makenzie from town and country plans?

To the question about the interior, it's been many more years but it's coming along. Hardwood floors, a working wood stove, and perhaps even a shower this year.

Is it 12'x16' plus the porch or total?

12'x16' is the main downstairs room. The porch is an additional 12'x6' and the upstairs 12'x22' is divided into two 12'x8' sleeping areas and a 12'x5' landing area between them.

The downstairs room is of course being encroached upon by various things like the kitchen stuff you see, a shower stall next to it, the wood stove, and the ladder to the upstairs, so it's not really 190 sqft. It's all still fairly functional though and will be even moreso once I get more cabinets and shelves installed.
