Haven't post here in ages. Here is a 6 year update. Just put some railing on for the young kids I have now. Place is holding up great!

I have no idea if you still check this, but what color stain did you settle on for the ceilings? I'm starting a similar project and that's the exact color I'm looking for. Has it aged/darkened in the years since you put it up? Did you put poly or another clear coat on it?

I have the cans of stain in the boat house... will check when I'm down there next. It hasn't faded at all. Didn't clear coat it.
Being a ceiling, it doesn't get any direct light, so it has held up perfectly.

Built a big (28'x11') deck beside the boat house this spring... here is the 99% finished product.
