Hi Everyone, I've been admiring the projects, cabins and info sharing on the site for some time. The overall spirit of here is impressive..
I finally registered not long ago but was lurking for years.
Our family has been trying to buy something for many years here in Ontario but cost and the skyrocketing land costs made it difficult to find something in our budget that met our needs and desires. That could have been almost anything but it needed to be on water, fishing of some variety was manditory.

Its not a secluded cabin but we were finally able to buy a cottage that fit... enough land (apprx 1 Acre), on water, slightly off the beat'n path etc.... It needs work . Last summer I installed a hot water tank, repaired the vast plumbing issues, had the roof shingled (it was leaking), I expanded the washroom and added a shower, replaced a few windows and got myself a dock for my boat.

Plans for this April are a woodstove (no heat currently) and repair the water intake from the lake. I have most of this lined up and ready to go once the snow melts and I can drive in.

I'm a novice when it comes to building and all things renovation related but I'm hoping to contribute to the site where I can.

I'll post some pics soon

Cheers

Hey good luck, Max. We're now building up on the Bruce Penninsula. Had a bunkie for a few years, now building a cabin...whatever your idea of "cabin life".....it is a great adventure.
