Picked up all my lumber for the floor and walls today.waiting for the roads to dry out to get some gear into the site. It's about 7km from the main hwy and about a 600m ATV trail. Purchased all rough lumber for the floor and supports. Also purchased 18x18 reinforced footing pads . excited to start driving some nails.!!! Purchasing the lumber from a small local sawmill saved me about $500 . a PC of 2x6x12 was 6.60 .2x6x8 - $4.40. Purchased pre cut studs(100) for 1.70 a pc

yeah that.
looks very nice. Look forward to following your build. NFLD is very high on my wish list of places to visit. Nicest people I've ever met and the country looks fantastic.

2 more truck loads of lumber in today. Amazed at how much wood can fit on an ATV cart. 2 truck loads.....3 trips with the cart . 8 degrees and sunny today- no flies - YET . Hope to get my sheeting in by end of next weekend. Start construction the following week .

I was married to a sweet lady from NFLD(Gosse). While we were married and living in Ontario we would visit her parents at least 4 times a year and stay at her parents cabin on Codroy Pond. That was over 30 yrs ago. I heard the log cabin was getting broken into all the time and the new owners just let it fall to pieces. I was amazed to see caribou in NFLD. The salmon and trout fishing was spectacular along with moose hunting. Her uncle was an outfitter and had a fly in camp(Helicopter), not sure where it was. Best of luck on your build....

Electrical completed this weekend. Installed a small panel (generator power only) with 2 double pole 15A breakers. Put the lights on one circuit. The plugs on the other. Also put 2 plugs under the cabin , one for my water pump and the other for a rainy day/outside work.

All the insulation and vapour barrier is done. All sheeted up inside now with aspentie. Going to do over with pine throughout the winter. Bought a second hand wood stove and pre fab this week.. almost ready to spend the night. We have had several frost warning already so temps are dipping close to zero at night now. Cant wait for the snow. This weekend project is outhouse. Got the hole half dug out ....fun fun...should have done this first

i have one bedroom for myself 8X9. Also have bathroom 5x7. Going to build day bed/bunk bed on other side of bathroom . I didn't want to split the camp down the middle with bedrooms. I also lofted over my bedroom which could accommodate a "sleeper" or in my case will be used for storage.
