I made a small free tool that may help when you are looking at used cabin appliances, especially fridges, ranges, water heaters, and older RV appliances.
It is called Appliage. You enter the brand and serial number from the rating plate, and it tries to turn the date code into a manufacture month, week, or year. If the same code can mean more than one year, it shows the possible years instead of pretending it knows for sure. When a model number helps narrow it down, it uses that too.
I built it because used appliances often have no paperwork left, and age matters a lot when you are buying something second hand for a cabin. It can also surface recall notices when the model and serial range match a public notice.
No signup is needed. If anyone here has an old fridge or range where the age is hard to figure out, I would be interested in testing that example.
