It seems I have been replacing a few light bulbs in the past few months. IIRC correctly. All were 40 or 50k hour lifespan bulbs. I don't remember leaving any of the lights on for 4 or 5 years. Maybe it's just my math. Has anyone got 50k hours out of a light bulb? Here's my math. 50,000 hrs ÷ 24 hrs =2083 days 2083 days ÷ 365 = 5.7 years. If I am right or wrong, I need to order more bulbs.

Light bulb math is like paper towel math. 12=24 and 6=16.
No you wont get the hours they state. I'm replacing some LED bulbs that are less than 8yrs old. I started notice this and actualy started putting dates on the bulbs.

Wait, LEDs go bad? Dang, just got over incandescent.
Here’s my little experiment. These little buck store solar LEDs work great, several on my deck go on every night but after a few hours quit until sun recharge next day. I put one next to my dial cabin clock in the cabin to see it all night but also didn’t last. So I took it apart… the battery they come with is this little 1.2v NiCd. I replaced it with an 18650 3.7v Li-ion I had lying around. It works fine but also wore down, down to 2.5v this morning. I guess the charging chip it uses limits the solar charge. Still playing around.. IMG_5232.jpeg
