A friend of mine who passed away this year used to host his "pagan festival" every winter solstice. Basically an outdoor barbecue (in New England), he'd roast a whole pig and other stuff. The rule was, "bring your knife, no other utensils allowed."
Of course in reality, the guys would be out shivering around the fire with their knives, while the women hung out in the warm kitchen using forks.

I feel sooo much better today, and to underscore the occasion we are going into an above normal temp period (early 'Jan Thaw?) maybe into low 40s. Happy Dance

Glad you’re happy Gc. We have an ‘atmospheric river’ going on out here, and I’m stuck at the grid house until it dries up. Dark and rainy.. come on spring!

Probably not but we’re at the grid house till it clears up. I left the WiFi on at the cabin so I can see live photos of the place. It uses about 1 amp. The new Victron SCC seems to put out about 2 amps in any daylight (much more in sunny weather) so I should be fine, good test. Got my well sump pump project waiting for my return so I’m anxious. Looking at this weekend. IMG_6190.jpeg
