Last nite I was doing a routine quality control check of the beer mini fridge in the shop. (Working Fine) Anyhoos, I noticed my HF 2 stroke genny buried in the corner under a pile of "Don't throw that away stuff" I haven't ran that genny in at least 1 1/2 years or more. I pulled it out, wiped off the protective layer of dust/cobwebs. Took it outside, turned the gas on. Did 2 primer pulls, flipped the switch, pulled it twice, and ole smokey fired right up! I let it warm up. Then put a load on it, checked the voltage and hertz. All good. I ran an angle grinder, then a circular saw for a half hour. The last time I used it, it bounced off the back of a 4 wheeler and rolled down a hill. Tough little bugger! It had no gas treatment and I didn't drain the carb. The gas looked a bit sketchy but..whatever. Yank it, crank it....All Good IMG_20261015_1939579.jpg

Hey Darz, good to hear from you. I don’t get on here much anymore but still living at the cabin mostly. And been thinking about my old 2 smoke HF genny. Been a real work horse building the cabin, here it is 15 years ago. But Im swimming in generators right now. More to follow..

Wow, that IS impressive! Id dump the gas and give it some new mix and use it some. There are times I wish Id had kept my little WEN 2c as a quick & handy but sold it to a friend when I bought my 2kw little Champion inv/gen. Sometimes bigger isn't 'better'.

The gas is regular pump gas. Can't get the e free close around here. The gas is so old it was less than $3.00 a gallon. Lol The stroker oil I've been using for quite a while is Pennzoil xlf Marine. I get it by the gallon. I don't know if that has any to do with it starting so easy, but the sparkplug looks pretty good to me for being a stroker. Yah Paul good to hear from you also. Seems like the forum gets more spam posts than real folks lately.

Thanks Darz. To continue my story: Both of my 220v gennys are sketchy. The diesel runs good once I get it started, hit and miss. The gas one died the other day, thought just out of gas. No luck. The coil, sits above the flywheel like any old Briggs, broke off! Sheared the mounting holes in the engine case. I cobbled it back together with wood screws and bailing wire, its running for the moment. I need 220v for the well pump.
So I decided i wanted a brand new genny, with dual fuel, gas and LP. Got on Amazon, put in 220v genny, this one came up so bought it. Only when it came realized it was only a 110. Contacted them, they said here’s your 500 clams back, just keep the genny! Still here in the box..
Well I spent 100 of that on a new 120v well pump, figuring if that works I can ditch 220v needs. It came yesterday. I put it in the well right on top of the 220 pump, about 35 feet down. Tested with an old genny and its working. Will it pump 250 feet up the hill like it says? Dont know yet but if not I can use it for the shop tank down the hill, another 500 gallon tank there. And I still have 400 of their money. Always something to do around here, guess that keeps me going.

So the 110v well pump wont push water up to the cabin tank. Fills the shop tank no problem. I have 1 inch tubing running up the hill. Thought maybe smaller hose would help but AI says no, might actually hurt.

Maybe find out how much lift (for your distance uphill) that it will pump to a midway tank and another from there to cabin?

Darz, we've been working on editing, totally blowing away posts and/or 'dismembering' spammers. Of course it does help content if members post real stuff

Running a generator on propane will keep it in top shape for a long time. We depend on a deep well so I installed a 300 gallon propane tank and bought an 11000 watt duel fuel WEN generator. Still need to wire up the transfer switch but it'll power everything when needed.
I do want to get my hands on one of those little 2 stroke HF ones, not sure they still sell them.
