I agree with VT on this one money will be better spent on your driveway. There are plenty of cheaper/easier ways to post up your cabin. And you said there are a ton of rocks I can see those going in very easy with rocky soil. Brian

I'm meeting withor excavator this Saturday to mark the area. He talked me out of putting down stone. Said the soil base is pretty sandy and just let the grass grow back in. the drive will be 450 ft long x 16 ft wide and he is clearing enough area for a future cabin, barn, and room to spin my 30 ft trailer around. He quoted me $1500. Think i'm going to have him clear a path to the back of the property while he's there. My property is pretty flat and were widening a couple established walking paths. hope that helps.

I'm located in Mancelona, Michigan. My quote went up a bit after I meet with him last Saturday to $2500 and 2.5-3 days of work. Drive will now be 525 feet, 3/4 acre to be cleared for buildings, and a 600ft path to the south side of the property. I butt up to state land and there is an old logging RR path back there that leads to the snow/orv trail system about a mile away. I'll try to post up a satellite pix. Amazing things can be done with a GPS and Google earth.
