well tv goes in phases.years of soaps-
then 70's and talk shows.mike Donahue,phill and so on and so on.then the years of the judge tv shows.then since the o.j. trial-its been alot of actual court tv.now the reality shows seem to be a hit.maybe soon we will be interacting with tv stars and talking to our tvs and getting answers.maybe one day we will be stars of our own shows...by then i will be in the woods and off the grid...

If it attracts off grid, backwoods viewers, they'll need to drop in photos be a hellicopter so we can see how it's working out. LOL

Ha, thank you for all the replies everyone! I know "reality tv" is often anything but, BUT Raw really does approach everything with such a degree of integrity and journalism that hopefully the distortion of reality in the final product will boil down to things just seeming to happen a lot faster than they do in real time.
Feel free to send me an email and suss us out for yourselves! This is a big project and we need people who will be real collaborators in it, there has to be a mutual respect, understanding and partnership - and we'll try to be (invisible) partners to do what we can to facilitate your plans.
And please forgive the same posts on different forums - we're just trying to get the word out - glad to know we're posting on other communities that you like - tells me we're on the right track!

Your friend sounds like someone we would love to contact, if at all possible, even just to speak to him about his plans and knowledge of self-reliant communities.

To everyone else reading- we are not looking to make a mockery out of any of the communities we are going to document. Our production company seeks to educate not only the general public, but ourselves about this culture. I think their show should be about how much blood ,swet, and money goes in to these small cabins and the property.

Thanks for your comment. I'm sure that will come through in the show! We'll be documenting the blood, sweat and tears, as they say, and I'm sure it's not going to come off looking easy! Inspiring and rewarding, yes. But easy? Heck no!

Lolol,,,you folks are just killin me,lol.If we say,,,Yah we'll do it,what's in it for us?Will you provide the land and resourses needed?Decent salerys and insurance???30 year's ago,I'd a loved it!but the reality is way to much government regulation and control now days to ever pull this one off.Perhaps,once the economy collapses and people really need to religh on alternitive energy instead of big oil and grid power,it might stand a chance.Being a movie star would be pretty cool though!
