The concept is great, but it sure would be difficult to keep the "courtyards" clear of debris (snow, leaves, etc.) Bill Lishman (aka Father Goose) built an underground home many years ago that I have always been fascinated with. http://www.thestar.com/life/homes/decor/2012/12/07/paula_lishman_and_bill_lishman_go_ underground.html He does warn that it was very expensive to build
