I'm in the process of doing the same thing: putting 2 inch xps rigid foam between the floor joists, but leaving a 1" air gap. Then I'm going to spray foam all seems. Have you had any issues? I'm wondering if the air gap can cause any problems, like a trap for moisture. Let me know!
