Looks nice Greenland South, what size is that 18 X 24 ? Looks like about a 10/12 pitch roof and I love the green roof. I also went with green.

The roof is 12/12. That wasn't the easiest or most comfortable thing I've done. It's 16x24 at the moment. The plan is to have a covered wrap around deck and 8x16 kitchen/mud room on the back.

This is our place in upstate NY. About 80-90 years old, nobody knows for sure, some additions over the years. The old part is all native American Chestnut. Cabin_exterior_DSC01.jpg

Here is my cabin with original barn. I can date it in family for 100 years. Picture of my cellar and view from porch. It sits in mountains of West Virginia on 70 acres. IMG_20190427_121449..jpg

Here's a drone shot of my place near Denali national park. All my buildings toward the bottom, airstrip in the middle, Foraker and Denali in the background. Don't have a cabin quite yet, just a bunch of sheds with tools, and a big pile of logs to build one in the Spring.

They are 7 1/2" high x 5 1/2" thick. They used a latex caulk/sealant between each log course. Unfortunately not nearly enough in some places as we have air intrusion here and there. We used a clear silicone to recaulk between the logs wherever there were gaps. Not 100% sealed but better now. My advice would be to not skimp on the sealant and/or use foam strips as well.

Thanks Nobadays ! Do you have build progress photos posted anywhere? I'd love to see how yours was constructed as it looks very similar to what we will be doing.

Sorry... we bought it already completed. They are building a couple of new cabins not too far from us this summer, I'll try to get some pictures.

Whoops! Just went up last weekend to check on how the snow is slughing off the roof, seems to be doing good. A work in progress but it is so wonderfully peaceful just to be there. 20221231_135059.jpg
