 Welcome BadgersHollow,
Let the dream begin, you certainly found a home with like-minded small cabin dwellers.
Best of luck from a neighbor in Ontario, Canada!

40 for me and 42 for the hubby....

I think that there are so many middle agers here because in our 20s we were sleeping in tents and thinking it was the coolest thing in the world...now a foam mattress and bear proof walls are necessary...we have gotten smarter me thinks!

I'm 23 and planning on a circa-250 sq. ft. cabin with a loft for myself and my girlfriend. I need to just find some land and put a bit more money under my mattress first!

I started my cabin when I was about 54. Now I am 65 and the cabin is still not completely finished. A very wise man told me when I started building it, to never completely finish it. That way you always have an excuse to go to it.

Husband and I are both 38. We have 3 kids; 10, 7 and 4 (2 boys and a little girl.) In other words, old enough to want to get off the ground for sleeping and out of the tent and into a cabin!

45 in my mind.. Actually 40....
My wife always castigates me for this state of mind.
 I love this forum...

Maybe years down the line, this forum could serve as a special web based meet up group - not sure... Different people with different (albeit channeled) interests pursuing different motivations coming together on one forum... Maybe our motto oughta be.... 'Nature and living within it's grasp'.

We just busted the last snow drifts to get into our cabin last weekend, and it seems harder every spring now. I am 65 now and my wife is 59. We hope to have many more springs ahead of us.
