49 - no, that's the year I was born. Wow, just noticed this thread. Had a '41 Buick in HS that you had to start by flooring the gas pedal - referring to a previous post about an old truck. Cottonpicker keeps changing his age. Now quotes with reference from Lincoln's address - I don't think he could have actually been there... Love this site!

Older than the hills. I have arthritis in both knees, one shoulder and the ball of one foot. My father is 90. That give you an indication?

I used to say the same thing, old age is catching up, but not anymore.
I mountain snowmobile with riders from all ages. I paid close attention last year to all the moaning after a hard day of riding. The guys in their 20's complain just as much as the older ones in their 40's. The oldest ''me'' keeping in to myself '64''. I laughed we all had issues and even a twenty year old blaming age. Funny stuff. It led me to remember my first season as a laborer on construction. I was 16 and every night I hurt so bad I couldn't move. Years later I could do the same job steady day after day without pain. Pain is a way of life. It's the reward for living. If you are busy you don't feel it all the time.
