@Paul, I appreciate you are learning this stuff about AC 120V single phase & 240V split phase and you are making assumptions which can result in very serious consequences. Assumptions are only good for one thing, that is to make an ass out of oneself and I KNOW your smarter than that. Listen, I may be on a disability pension and a cheap bugger but I will SEND YOU $$$ to buy proper wire, switches etc if I have to, to save you from getting your keister fried.

That 10/3 is intended for a 120V split circuit - YES the label & printing says it handles 250V but that is NOT intended for 240V Split Phase. That switch, I'll just say OMG ! Please DON'T ! There are NO WORTHY SHORTCUTS when it comes to Electrical Systems ! Shortcuts KILL !

Hi Steve,

The pump is single phase. There are 4 wires from the control box to the pump, all connected at the box. I’ll photo it next time I’m down there but right now up at the cabin, genny running and tank filling. I didn’t use that switch, thought better of it too.

Not sure what @Zorro ended up doing...

But, I ended up getting the Schneider Conext XW Pro 6848 from NAZ Solar Electric at an even better price than what they are listing it at now: URL + the associated Insight Home, which is necessary for LFP

I don't have the specs of my well pump handy. But, it is over 500' down and it makes my 6200W 240V generator groan when it kicks on. After the initial surge, it pulls about 2000W running.

The Conext runs it without breaking a sweat! And the idle usage is lower than the EG4. Oh! and do note that the 6000XP running temps are NOT rated for below freezing. Depending on where you have it located that might matter. My power shed is not insulated/heated so I knew I didn't want to risk it with the EG4 Off-grid inverters. The Conext is good to run well below freezing
