I hope the hunting and cabin work is going well in the WV hills. I'll be looking forward to some updates and pics when you get back to civilization again.

Sort of always starts out like this maybe even more but this time not so bad. 2nd I check my feeder and as you will see I move onto solving my hot roof issue. I cut back 2 1/2 inches of plywood on both sides of my ridge beam so it will breath to the ridge vent now...

The roof is a huge step! The 10-12 pitch is steep but it definately adds to the space in the loft.

No problem now for breathing hoping it wont leak though
Well the ridge vent was pretty large and I also put in those foam inserts blocking any access holes into...

Thanks not much time to spend on forum since I came back but hope to catch up on things soon. Also found out that my cabin got broken into since my last visit and some thief's got me for a few guns....Hope to hear more feedback from you all !

Came in on 4 wheelers thru a creek bed around my property line broke into my garage full of tools then used them to pry open everything I had lock up. Well I'll have to take my medicine for leaving my guns there but I plan on putting in cameras and security this year.

Anybody out there with some ideas how to close in 5 3/4" eave with 2 x 6 rafters. If you look at my pictures in this thread you will see I have a facial on it already. The 2 x 6 are at the pitch of the roof. Probably of should of cut off bottoms first but its work in progress just thought I would ask the forum for a response ?

Hey Rowjr, I'm making plans to get up to the WV hills again in a couple of months and I'm hoping to get my ceiling done...along with several other jobs. I will be able to give you some pictures then of how I'm handling the ventilation on my cathedral ceiling. Are you planning to head back up this fall and tag another deer or two?
