Thanks skoot, the chicken rack worked fine. I did learn a lesson though. You should not have some chicken that is fresh, some that was frozen and thawed and some that was still not quite thawed out. Some was getting done and some was not and I did not want to take the rack apart ( I use 4 bolts with wing nuts) but I should have as some of the chicken got a little well done.

I must apologize rky60 . You know more about my pellet stove than I do. It is indeed a P43. I was looking at buying a P38 leftover and that must be why I was thinking it was a P38. I love how the stove works. I do get a little smoke when it starts up still after sitting for a while. The manual says the feed is too fast but I only have it set on 4 + . Do you have any issue with smoke. It is not much but I would like to eliminate it. Thanks

I get the slight smoke smell at startup on both of mine. Especially like you mentioned, after sitting for a while, or after cleaning the pipes. Usually more after putting the pipes together from cleaning.
I don't use any sealant on any of the pipe connections. Might try that, just on the stove adapter tho. Which is where it should only be needed I think
I do however like the faint whiff of the white pine pellets I use

I have to agree with you on the slight smoke smell. It has that cabin smell to it. The pipes I used said I did not need to use sealant. May wait to see how it goes before tearing it apart and using a sealant.

Well , I've been home from the hospital for 5 days now since my heart surgery. It will be a long 6 weeks but gives me plenty of time to catch up on reading and seeing what all you guys and gals are up to.

Got to the cabin on the 3rd and discovered the pumpkin my grandson and me filled with leaves was gone. After finding bag 150 yards down in the woods , figured out a bear decided to take it. Left it lay after it ripped and the leaves fell out. Maybe he thought it was a bag of garbage and might find some treats.

Just read your tread start to finish. We are in the planning stages . I had purchased a plan from another site for a 20x30 with a loft. We are planning on extending it to forty feet and adding a basement. I liked your cabin so well I ordered another plan from the site you used. Thank you so much for sharing your journey!

Thanks so much for the kind words. I too want to add about 10 -12 ft to end of cabin. Told my wife that would be her cave. At some point we do want to move in to the cabin and I realize we won't fit the way it is now. Too many worldly possessions. Although we will downsize a lot , I have a work shop so I will be putting up a 24 X 32 or 40 at some point before moving. If you have any questions , just let me know , I will try to answer them.

My grandson wanted me to cut this little tree for him to put up in the cabin. I explained to him that it would be better to decorate it outside so we would not have to cut the tree. He had no problem with that and was happy to place a few plastic balls and some garland from the dollar store on it. He is 4 now and I look forward to having him at the cabin on a lot of Saturdays and usually stays overnight. We have a blast with him. He loves the outdoors. Merry Christmas everyone.

Do you mind posting a few pics of your basement stairs showing them in relation to your loft stairs? That's one of the things we're having trouble visualizing. Thanks!
