They deliver to my cabin too. If the gate is shut they just leave it out front, about 30’ from the road. If the gate is open they will drive in, circle around and leave it inside. Deliveries only a couple times a week, sometimes fed ex or ups. At the city house the Amazon trucks are everywhere, usually next day.

Nice. So you buy off Temu? Anything to know? Just use your credit card?
Just got this off Amazon, 10 bucks. When I got the cabin livable over a decade ago I just used AC light switches laying around for the 12vdc stuff. Not right but they’ve always worked. In addition to switches this has LEDs when on. TV and modem hooked up and working so far.

Yes. I've ordered from them before. I used my debit card but I recently revived my pay pal account. My buddy has ordered lots of stuff from them. The one thing I don't like is, sometimes the picture isn't accurate. So you have to read the fine print and make sure what you are ordering. They sent me a wrong item once. I went to the website and they gave me a full refund in about 5 days, and let me keep the item. My friend got a lot of fishing and outdoor stuff that was ok. I mentioned before I got a couple crawfish traps a few years ago that I still use.

Just got this in from Temu. It's a stove or a heater or both at once. Got it for $16 bucks to the door. The cheapest I found one on Amazon was $29 bucks. It's 9000 BTUs. I'm surprised at how stable it is. I put a cast iron skillet and a Better Homes and Garden deep skillet on it, both half filled with water. I tried it with the heater on top and also just the stove mode. You can run it on the iso butane cartridges or I have adapters for 1 lb cylinders or #20 lb tank. Stove mode

Is shipping paid with purchase, free like Amazon? I don’t have a mailbox here at the cabin. There is an address posted and a post office nearby. Never gotten mail here. Amazon just leaves at gate.

I believe it's $2.99 shipping. Free if the order is $30. Or over. It will tell you at checkout. ?? If you have an address, I would think they could deliver there. If not you can probably pick it up at the PO. My mail box is 1/4 mile away. But they deliver to my cabin.

Mrs philpom has been doing dishes by hand for years and about 2 years back we came across this dishwasher. It's fantastic. No water hookup or drain required. It has a resovour you dump about 3 liters of water in and it can drain to a sink, tub, the ground, or we use a 5 gallon jug.
It's a little bigger than a microwave oven but light enough it can be stored away when not needed and handles full size plates and most other things though it can take several runs if you have a bunch of dirty dishes. Was a game changer for us. It also has a veggie wash mode. It did cost a few 100 bucks. Worth it if you ask me, happy wife, happy life. Amazon
Larger skillets are an issue but it will fit a regular Dutch oven size pot (please don't stick your cast iron in a dish washer)
*edit the brand is kapas, it got cut off. 20251229_193720.jpg

Sorry, I don't know why some of my photos get cut off.... I've played around and can't resolve it. Seems to be related to the orientation of the photo.

Nice. You have grid power I take it. Not that I couldn’t use it through the inverter. But I do all the cooking and cleaning and just use paper plates and bowls for serving, great wood stove starters. One stainless pot does all the veggie boiling etc., meat cooked outside on the grill. Metal forks, knives and spoons collect in a jar in the sink, washed by hand with the one pot. Certainly not elegant but just the two of us.
Oh and yes, pictures need to be rotated long horizontally. I still mess that up sometimes.

That dishwasher would be handy for when the whole family comes out for sure. Mostly it's just me so I use this handy dandy cordless dishwashing aid. I can clean most every thing up while running the water. I use less water than having to fill the sink up.

If anyone is interested in the c extension cords. You can get them on Amazon for $3.99. You need to use promo code T6ZP3JZD when you checkout.

For 10 years after the cabin went up we survived on batteries, solar, power box, and a generator for high demand stuff. Then we decided to ask the coop if they would put some poles in and run power out to us. It wasn't available to begin with. We ended up with a landing strip cut through the forest. Took a few years to get use to it, kinda shocking at first. Then we decided now that we had electricity a water well would be nice. Then the power outages happened here and there so we thought we better put in a nice big propane tank and backup generator... it never ends! It also allowed for things like a big fridge/freezer, AC, microwave, convection oven etc.
Using paper plates works well, we still use them since they can be burned. For hand washing we had a filet table with a sink, on nice days we'd take it outside and go at it. We don't have running water inside except the shower and that's fed from a bucket to the instant water heater. One day I'll plumb in an indoor and porch sink but the well head is 150' from the cabin, that's a lot of trenching for me to do alone. I'll be using the garden tractor with trailer to shuttle water from there to the cabin for years to come.
I cook out on the grill, smoker, or fire pit all the time. I enjoy it but it's also a solid option for reducing dishes.
Cheers

The one I posted is from one of the no longer a dollar type stores also. The good thing about it is that while you are running the water, you can start washing and it dispenses the soap as you go. Like I said, I save a ton of water being able to clean most of the dishes, before the sink gets full. I simply wash the flatware with a dish rag. It is only powered by me. Lol But after reading your post, I realized I have a battery powered scrubber.

I scratched in a power trench about 400' with a homemade subsoiler behind the tractor. Similar to this without the pipe tube; https://palletforks.com/products/3-point-20-in-subsoiler-with-optional-pipelayer-atta chment.
I just made multiple passes but did not need to go very deep. I need to get water to the garden someday, we run about 200' of hose now. I'll rent a mini-ex for that job

2018 photo. They came around putting in fiber optic from the street (just comm poles, no power). They said if I buried conduit they would pull a line up to the cabin. That was back when my diesel backhoe would start (:

I know I’m old and weak but it seems like plastic food bags have gotten tougher to open. And zip locks.. Came across this opener, speaking of battery kitchen utensils.

I'm not sure if this qualifies as cheap, but I got it out the door for $3,000. Definitely not Kubota quality, however after tightening some loose bolts/fittings and changing all the fluids it has proved very beneficial....
Just finished installing a french drain around one of my buildings..... shittydigger2.jpg
